K&M Insulation

K&M Insulation is an insulation contractor based in Plymouth. The company specialises in the removal of cavity wall insulation. Its two-man team has over 18 years of hands-on experience in the insulation industry. It operates across Devon and Cornwall. For local areas in Plymouth, it offers free surveying. Inspections and quotes are carried out using a borescope device. The existing drill pattern is used, with minimal extras added using a 22mm drill bit.

For extraction points, a brick is removed or a 4 inch core hole is used for render properties. All holes are plugged and made good with sand and cement, and removed bricks are replaced. For loft insulation, the company meets or exceeds the minimum recommended specification of 270mm thickness. Main services include cavity wall insulation removal and loft insulation installation.

Householders in Plympton and the wider Plymouth area who needed old cavity wall foam taken out or loft insulation renewed describe K&M Insulation as a dependable choice for the awkward, messy end of the trade. Kieran and Martin are named repeatedly for arriving when they said they would, working steadily through difficult jobs such as a low-pitched roof or a complicated 1920s structure, and clearing away dust and debris so that rooms and lofts are left clean, with holes filled and even painted over afterwards.

Several customers highlight the consultation stage, where the pair explained the materials being used, showed photographs and video of the cavities as work progressed, and answered questions without impatience. Pricing is described as competitive and, in some accounts, lower than other quotations, while the advice given was said to have saved money on unnecessary work. Communication is praised before, during and after the job, and the same names come up for friendliness and a willingness to take on whatever the property demands. Spray foam extraction, cavity clearance and fresh loft insulation are the services most often recounted.
