Heat pump installers · London

How much does Heat pump installers cost in London? (2026 price guide)

An air source heat pump installation typically costs £8,000-£14,000 before any government grant is applied, while ground source heat pumps, which need more extensive groundworks, usually run £15,000-£30,000. Ongoing servicing generally costs £100-£200 per year, and upgrading radiators or pipework to suit a heat pump system often adds £1,500-£4,000 to the overall project.

Costs vary mainly with property size and existing insulation levels, the type of heat pump chosen, whether radiators need upsizing or underfloor heating is being added, and groundworks required for ground source systems. Installers certified under the MCS scheme are required for households wishing to access government grant funding.

Checking eligibility for current government grant schemes before committing can substantially reduce the upfront cost of installation.
